We are a design + build kitchen and bath company founded in 1999, with over 24 years of experience creating distinctive kitchens throughout the Oklahoma City area. Our story began when Jo Meacham, a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a Master’s in architecture and over 20 years of experience as a historic preservation consultant, was offered the opportunity to renovate a large home in Heritage Hills. This project led to the creation of Vintage Kitchens, a company specializing in kitchens for historic homes. Over time, Urban Kitchens expanded to design kitchens and baths in homes of all ages, while maintaining Jo’s philosophy of context-driven design. In 2010, the company rebranded as Urban Kitchens to reflect its broader scope. Neila Crank-Clements joined the firm as a partner over four years ago, bringing over 10 years of experience remodeling historic homes and building and designing new homes for historic districts in Oklahoma City. Together, Jo and Neila bring a wealth of expertise to every project, from kitchen + master bath renovations to whole house remodels and additions. Megan Crowe joined the team to assist clients with design, material selection, and project management. She also serves as the design studio manager. Urban Kitchens has completed projects throughout the Oklahoma City metropolitan area, including Edmond, Norman, Enid, Clinton, and even the Texas panhandle. Our design studio is located in the heart of the city at 4205 North Western. We believe that each house, neighborhood, and city is unique, with its own distinctive architecture and culture. Our clients want kitchens that stand the test of time, and we believe that designing a kitchen that complements the existing architecture is the key to achieving that goal.
