404 East McKinney Avenue, Albertville, AL, 35950, US

Small enough to listen, big enough to deliver. Development & Construction Management Headquartered in Albertville, Alabama, Olympia has expertise in the construction, development, engineering, and management industry of affordable housing. Jeff Beaver and Ralph Fullerton started Olympia Construction, Inc. (OCI), in June of 1989 with a desire to become an industry leader in general contracting for the affordable housing market. In 2020, Jeremy Bain, Adam Beaver, Caleb Lea, Jon Peck, and Jon Perkins became part of the ownership as part of the succession planning of Jeff and Ralph, each bringing their own skill set and expertise to the table. Over the last 30+ years, OCI has predominately focused on multi-family residential apartment complexes but has also built single-family subdivisions and various commercial spaces. To support this diversification, OCI has obtained an unlimited general contractors license in 9 states throughout the southeastern United States, including Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Texas, South Carolina, and North Carolina. OCI has built for third party developers as well as their own properties. In 2014, Olympia Management, Inc. (OMI) was formed to meet the growing demand for property management of Olympia’s apartment portfolio. In addition to managing all of Olympia’s properties, OMI also manages several third-party apartments. The staff at OMI include long-time professionals in the affordable housing industry with many years of experience including the owners, Jeff Beaver and Luke Sampson. Also in 2014, Olympia Design-Build, Inc. was created to offer civil engineering services as part of Olympia Construction’s in-house range of services. Then in 2017, Olympia Design-Build, began doing business as Olympia Engineering as part of a rebranding to better reflect to the public, their growing niche in the civil engineering site development market. Olympia Engineering has become a go-to design professional for ADA accessibility, sports field engineering, subdivision design, master planning, storm water monitoring, construction project management, and multi-family site design. In 2020, with a look towards the future, another company that focuses solely on the ongoing development of affordable housing was built, Olympia Development, LLC. Taking a comprehensive approach to development services, Olympia Development, LLC ensures every aspect of the process is meticulously coordinated to achieve successful outcomes from acquisitions, planning and design, financing, partnership building, and maintaining our existing partner relationships. Kitchen Remodeling FAQ

Find answers to common questions about Kitchen Remodel and hiring Kitchen Remodel in the USA

Does remodeling kitchen require permit?

Yes, in most cases, a kitchen remodel will require obtaining the necessary permits from your local building department or municipality. Permits are typically required for any work that involves:
  • Structural changes or modifications to the kitchen layout
  • Electrical work, such as installing new circuits or relocating outlets
  • Plumbing work, including relocating or adding new pipes and fixtures
  • HVAC or ventilation system modifications
  • Changes to load-bearing walls or removing non-load-bearing walls
Failing to obtain the necessary permits can result in fines, delays, or even having to undo completed work if it does not meet building codes. It's essential to work with licensed and insured contractors who will handle the permitting process and ensure your kitchen renovation complies with all local regulations and safety standards. Obtaining permits safeguards both you and future homeowners, ensuring the work is done safely and up to code.

What not to forget when remodeling a kitchen?

When embarking on a kitchen remodel, it's essential not to overlook the following crucial elements:
  • Proper planning and budgeting
  • Obtaining necessary permits and approvals
  • Considering lighting and ventilation
  • Addressing electrical and plumbing requirements
  • Selecting durable and low-maintenance materials
  • Ensuring adequate storage and organization
  • Accounting for appliance sizes and clearances
  • Incorporating energy-efficient features
  • Planning for temporary kitchen accommodations
Neglecting these critical aspects can lead in costly mistakes, delays, and potential code violations. Proper planning and attention to detail are essential for a successful kitchen renovation that meets your functional and aesthetic needs.

Why is kitchen remodeling so expensive?

Kitchen remodeling is often considered one of the most expensive home improvement projects due to several factors:
  • High material costs for cabinets, countertops, appliances, and flooring
  • Extensive labor required for demolition, installation, and finishes
  • Potential need for electrical, plumbing, and structural work
  • Increased demand for kitchen renovations, driving up costs
  • Custom or high-end design elements and features

Additionally, the kitchen is a high-traffic area that requires durable, functional, and attractive materials, contributing to the overall cost. However, a well-executed kitchen remodel may significantly enhance the value, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of your home, making it a worthwhile investment for many homeowners.
